What can I expect by joining an SBI programme?

+

Upon receiving your enquiry we will reach out to you to complete your application.

Once onboard, you will be able to:

  • Access to a range of workshops led by experts – we’ll help you learn everything from business plans and developing your product, to pitching for funding. We’ll help you learn the startup landscape and how to become competitive within it;
  • Receive individualised support and one-to-one consultations – we know that no business is the same, so we will tailor the programme to meet your needs;
  • Gain opportunities to book time with LSBU’s academic experts, specialised equipment and labs;
  • Receive monthly newsletters about funding and development opportunities;
  • Become part of our community of entrepreneurs and innovators.

Our programmes are free of charge, though there is a minimum time commitment of 12 hours.

Can I apply as an individual?

+

We’ll support you from conception through to product development, and beyond. We have a range of programmes, supporting London-based pre-startups, startups and established businesses. Chances are, you’ll qualify for one of them.

If you’re not sure about which programme is for you, contact us or consider attending our next taster day, hosted by Newham College’s Centre for Innovation and Partnerships.

Do you support not-for-profit companies, charities or community interest companies?

+

Absolutely – We support innovation in the local agri-food, digital health and low-carbon industries. If your organisation doesn’t fit into these categories, you could also qualify for Enterprise Steps, the Dek Growth Programme, or Fresh Start.

I’ve already got funding and investment, can I apply?

+

Yes. we’re passionate about sharing our expertise and helping entrepreneurs, and we’re not biased. We embrace collaboration over competition and encourage our cohorts to do the same.

Do we have to live in London and be British to apply?

+

To qualify for our core programmes, you must have a company registered in London.

There’s no requirement to be British – we’re proud to be inclusive, and we know that differences between people are a source of strength.

Is there a programme participation fee?

+

There’s no fee – our programmes are match-funded by our European partners. The only commitment we require from our companies and entrepreneurs is their time.

The minimum commitment is 12 hours, though the more you commit, the more you will feel the benefit for your business.

The maximum time on our programme depends on your needs as an innovator and what is the most appropriate for your business.
