About the study

London South Bank University’s SimDH programme are looking for people who are currently on a waiting list for IAPT CBT who would like some extra support before they start treatment.

Syndi is a remote monitoring system for those who are currently on the waiting list for NHS mental health treatment. It provides users with customised signposting based upon your responses to regular surveys.

The current study will evaluate the effects of this sign posting on user’s well-being. People participating in this study will either be assigned to a waiting list condition, or to use the app for 4 weeks.

During the study, the research team will follow up with you to assess your well-being at set time points.

I'm in!

Brilliant. Now comes the fun bit ... Please read the right hand column, then, when you are ready, click the below button to join the experiment!

Need more information? We understand. Press the 'Request Call Back' button, input your information and a member of our research team will be in touch to answer any questions you may have.

If you choose to take part, you will be asked to complete a consent form after reading this information sheet. Upon completion, you will be asked to complete a series of surveys that measure mood and well-being.

These questions will ask you to report how often you have been bothered by a number of problems over the past two weeks, as well as some more general questions about your life.

After this, if you have been assigned to use the app, you will be contacted by the Syndi Health team with instructions on how to download and use the app.

The Syndi app requires users to complete mood surveys, that will ask questions relating to how frequently you have been bothered by a series of problems over the past two weeks. The Syndi app provides customised signposting to resources for users on the basis of their responses to these surveys. The app contains specific guidance on how to use it.

You will be asked to use the app for 4 weeks. All participants will be contacted by the research team after 2 and 4 weeks to complete some additional follow up measures.

If you have been assigned to the waiting list group, you will get the app at the end of the four-week testing period. After commencing the study, you may also be invited to express your interest in taking part in a second part of the evaluation, a one-to-one interview. You can take part in the first phase (detailed above) without having to take part in the interview.
