Ruoyu Jin

Dr Ruoyu Jin currently works as an Associate Professor in Construction Management, from School of Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University. He specialises in Building Information Modelling (BIM) pedagogy, construction safety education, construction waste management especially recycled aggregate concrete, and off-site manufacturing for construction.

He has been working with the Sustainable Innovation project since June 2020, and provides academic support to Treeconomy. Together, Dr Jin and Treeconomy are researching and testing the carbon capturing of trees using Geospatial methods and technologies. To date, this work has produced a prototype and developed a new methodology for low-carbon monitoring.

I'm a passionate academic staff and am keen to work with different stakeholders. I also love travel, football, and Latin dance.

What does a ‘typical’ day look like for you?

Pre-Covid-19: work, football, family time ...

New Normal: home-working, watching football, family all the time

Self-employed.

What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work? 

I enjoy playing and watching Football, listening to latin music, and travelling to tropical islands for holidays and relaxing!
