ACE IT Project Manager, Rachel Beach says:
“All of us in the ACE IT team are delighted to welcome such a strong, diverse group of SMEs to the programme. We are excited to support this group in developing both their business and their product readiness.
The immersive technology industry is currently worth £1.5bn to the UK economy. Its market size is expected to increase by almost 15% this year.
2020 showed us how pivotal industry 4.0 already is to modern business, and we are now seeing the many ways in which immersive technology can provide solutions that remove the barrier of distance between businesses and staff, retail and customers, teachers and students, and even doctors and patients. Any businesses who are not considering adopting this technology are prone to falling behind their competitors.
ACE IT is a unique opportunity for businesses to gain this competitive advantage, free.”
A further 44 SMEs will be receiving support from ACE IT’S experts. This support will help them realise the potential of immersive technology for their industries, and create better experiences for staff and customers. This support will be delivered through expert-facilitated workshop, consultancy and mentorship. It is expected that more of these businesses will progress to collaboration with the ACE IT programme to create new immersive tech projects.
The Spring Cohort will begin on 19 April 2021 and complete in June 2021.
ACE IT is a fully funded innovation programme delivered by London South Bank University and UAL: London College of Communications. It is match-funded by European Regional Development Fund.
